Agora Gallery is the sponsor of international fine art competitions for the last 24 years. The Chelsea International Fine Art Competition is a juried art contest. This year’s competition will be juried by Mr. Ira Goldberg, Executive Director, The Art Students League of New York. Mr. Goldberg has been affiliated with the League since 1979 and became the Executive Director in 2001. He was the recipient of the Carlssen Award at the 121st National Academy Exhibition and is listed in Who’s Who in American Art. Juror selected artists (15-20) will exhibit their work collectively from August 14th through September 2nd 2009 at Agora Gallery with online and print promotion exposure. 6 artists will be awarded placement of 6 images on www.Art-Mine.com for a period of one year. One artist will be selected for a review with 2 color images by an art critic in ARTisSpectrum Magazine.
Application submitted to the 1st annual D Art Slam to be held at f.i.g.’s light-filled space at the end of May 2009. “D Art Slam” will also introduce “The New Dallas Nine” art awards, with winners appearing in pages of D Magazine. This is a 3 day juried event (May29-May31st 2009). Artists selected for the show has 12 linear feet of wall space to display his/her work.

The 2 pieces of artwork above will be showcased at the 10th Annual National Teochew Artists Calligraphy And Painting Exhibition will be held in Singapore at the Ngee Ann Cultural Centre from 20th Nov, 2008 to 3nd Dec.2008.
Medium: Ink on Rice Paper
Description: This piece is the 1st painting from my “Rorschach Humor” Series currently in progress. Unlike my previous works such as the “Melody” or “Alien” series, which had a clear subject content to each painting, the Rorschach Humor Series are very much subjective to each viewer.
History: New Texas Talent is designed to introduce and promote emerging artists by one of the top gallery in the Dallas area – the Craighead Green Gallery. Each year, approximately 500 entries are submitted for review by a gallery selected juror. The juror then independently selects artists to participate in the New Texas Talent exhibition. Julie Kronick is this year’s Juror. Her selections include a diverse body of work by 25 Texas Artists. Kronick is the corporate art curator for the high end Retail Chain Neiman Marcus. For over 15 years she has nurtured and continued to build the remarkable collection originally started by Stanley Marcus himself. Kronick seeks out emerging and mid – career artist, often choosing from the local communities where the stores are located or stores that are in the process of being opened.
I am truly honored to be one of 25 selected artists participating in this exhibition.
ARTFEST, a juried exhibition organized by the 500 Inc., is held annually during the Memorial Day Weekend in the Dallas, TX area. The 500, Inc., is a non-profit volunteer organization dedicated to supporting the arts in Dallas County (Texas) since 1965.
500X Gallery is Texas’ oldest, artist run, cooperative gallery since 1978. The gallery is located in a historic circa 1916 tire factory and air-conditioning warehouse and has over 3000 square feet of exhibition space. The 500X Gallery was developed by Will Hipps (Massachusetts native who moved to Dallas to teach), and Richard Childers (a local painter). Their as to provide a space for artists to exhibit free of outside influences and dealer restrictions.

Description: While the medium is Western, the layout and technique is Eastern. This abstract collection utilizes only red color against a white background, a symbol of good fortune in Chinese Tradition. All the paintings focus on images that significant in Chinese Culture. Buyers or this series call my work from this collection “Feng Shui” art, believing that collecting them will bring good fortune to the owner of the works.
